We're ready to get in the car and head back to Phoenix/Mesa. But the lady of the ranch on down the road drove by and we struck up a conversation. We had a delightful talk for the next hour (never mind that the temperature was dropping and the wind was whipping up and we are chilling quickly). She welcomed us back next week for a home-cooked meal and a tour of the ranch, including some near-by ancient pictographs. She seemed like a great lady, doing lots of things for northern Arizona.
