Halfway between the ranch and the power lines we met this lone rider trekking south. He was from Switzerland. Over two months ago he flew into Vancouver, Canada, with his bike, bought a trailer there, packed up, and headed south. He joined the AZ Trail at the AZ/Utah border, took a shuttle around the Grand Canyon (from the north rim to the south rim), and now is well on his way to the AZ/Mexican border. He has a plane ticket out of Tucson on the 30th of this month, so he has about 3 weeks left in his trek. We had a long chat with him. He was anxious to get to Flagstaff to get some repairs done on his rig. His luggage rack had broken and he lost a spoke in his front wheel
