Gail had offered to take us to see some pictographs left in Rabbit Canyon by earlier civilizations - that is one of the main reasons we stopped at the ranch. These pictographs date from about 1200 years ago to as recent as the 1860s (there are more recent ones, but they are obvious and viewed as graffiti). There have been archiologists who have surveyed and documented this whole canyon, so Gail has learned, through them, how to read the stories that are told in these historic "writings"
