The Pinchot Cabin - an old Forest Service Cabin that is no longer used. This current cabin was build in the early 1930s by a John Sanders. The original Pichot cabin, built nearby, was smaller, but is now gone. It was built by a Ranger Roy H. Rice in 1919, but named for Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the US Forest Service (1905-1910). Pinchot apparenly visited this earlier cabin but it must have been after he was Chief. The draw and trail derive their names from the Houston Brothers Ranch outfit, which made summer camp in this lovely area.
