Some of the reconstructed Native American village that was found buried at the site of the Tuzigoot Nat'l Monument. This village was built along the Verde River beginning about 1,000 years ago and ending about 700 years ago. There have been about 110 rooms identified here, including 2 and 3 story buildings. Notice the matate, on which grain was ground, in the foregound.
