The Vekol Valley, which the Vekol Valley Road goes through, is one of the most often used routes for drug smugglers and illegials coming into this country. Much of this traffic is on foot, trying to reach I8 where they get picked up by cohorts. There have been gun battles and killings in the area. We stayed alert and cognizant of out surroundings.
