Suzanne wonders if this could be a depiction of a giant Shasta sloth that lived in the canyons and was hunted in AZ, but supposedly became extinct about 11,000 years ago. According to Peterson, the natives often depicted badgers, mastadons and mountain lions with multiple toes.
