The terrain is a little monotonous, which is why we decided to bike some of these northern, high plateau passages of the trail. Things are so dry and sparse it is amazing that the Babbitt Ranch has a herd of 5,000 head of cattle on its 1,000 square miles. That is about 130 acres per head. 130 acres PER head! Wow.
