IMG 8236-HDR(3) Friday morning we took a large boat (about 100 passengers max) and rode (not rowed) up lake Powell about 50 miles to see the famous Rainbow Arch. Our first good view of the arch came after more than a mile walk from the boat. If you look closely, you can see some people down by the arch. They had gotten ahead of us, and provide a good perspective on size. You can place the US Capitol, dome and all, under the arch. IMG 8257-HDR(3) A dinosaur track froze in the rock near the arch. IMG 8245-HDR(3) stitch This is a composite picture made up of 4 shots necessary to take in the whole arch from where I was standing IMG 8260-HDR(3) Scott thinks the arch is beginning to crumble, so he makes his contribution to protecting our national monumnets by attempting to hold it up.
